6. A transitional album if there ever was one, 'America Eats Its Young' bridged the wild, Maggot Brain-days of the original Funkadelic band with the more elaborate, philosophical P-Funk records that were released from onward. The credits alone read like a small telephone book listing.

7. If you are a Funkadelic fan and this album throws you at first, don't worry. This happened to me too. This was released as a double LP in , and there are a lot of styles on America Eats Its Young that you don't find on your typical s Funkadelic album/5(12).

8. A double album and worth every minute of it, America Eats Its Young makes for a freaky, funky, and aware good time. Compared to the endless slabs of double-album dreck that came out around the same time from all sources, here Funkadelic brought life, soul, and much more to the party.
